Anxiety Treatment

What: Anxiety is a common emotion when dealing with daily stresses and problems. But when these emotions are persistent, excessive and irrational, and affect a person’s ability to function, anxiety becomes a disorder. There are different types of anxiety disorders, including phobias, panic and stress disorders, and obsessive compulsive disorder.

Symptoms: Apprehension, confusion, on edge, a sense of helplessness, repeated negative thoughts, muscle tension, palpitations and difficulty breathing

Treatment and help: Simple strategies, such as relaxation techniques and regular exercise, are effective in reducing anxiety and contributing to emotional well-being. Psychotherapy can help and is sometimes used together with medication to reduce and eliminate signs and symptoms.

Depression Treatment

Depression is a natural human emotion, where a person feels upset, helpless over a prolonged period of time. This affects a person’s day to day life, their relationships, social life and mental health. This can cause them to start using alcohol and drugs. Depression is more alarming due to the suicide rate caused by it in our country and it is strongly recommended that a person under depression should open up and share his feeling and thoughts to his friends/ family or should go visit a counsellor or psychiatrist for better advice and to look at things or problems from a different point of view.


Obsessive Compulsive Disorder

OCD is characterised by unreasonable and unwanted feelings, ideas and sensations creating a fear that can be categorised as obsession resulting in repetitive behaviours and rituals which can be termed as a compulsion. With OCD a person may or may not realize that their obsessions aren’t reasonable but face consistent urges which causes anxiety and distress.

Personality Disorder

Personality is the way of thinking, feeling and behaving that makes a person different from other people. Personality is influenced by experiences, environment and inherited characteristics. A person’s personality typically stays the same over time. A personality disorder is a way of thinking, feeling and behaving that deviates from the expectations of the culture, causes distress or problems functioning, and lasts over time. A personality disorder can be of various forms but when identified can be cured or kept under control with therapy and medications.
