Alcohol is a drug whose prolonged abuse causes physical damage as well as deterioration in mental and emotional health. The pleasurable or euphoric effects of the chemical mean it can become an addiction, destroying relationships, careers and ultimately lives.

One possible explanation is that the addict is looking to fill an internal void. They use alcohol as a way of self medicating in order to cope. Initially ,alcohol can appear to relieve or numb this but has severe damaging effects in the longer run.

Drug addiction is a wide umbrella that covers various kinds of substance addiction such as cannabis, opioids, heroin, cocaine etc. that can cause serious long-term effect on one’s mental and physical health and wreck one’s interpersonal and professional relationships.

Cannabis Treatment

Cannabis is a plantation drug that is commonly referred as gaanja, weed, marijuana, hash etc. The drug has become very popular and is widely accepted illegal drug used among teenagers in our country. Side effects of this drug are memory loss, brain damage, impotency, increased heart rate, insomnia etc.

Opioids Addiction

Opioids are drugs extracted from the poppy opium plants that causes hazardous physical dependence alongside resulting in extreme withdrawal symptoms. It is generally taken orally, but abused commonly through injections by an addict, which has severe physical side-effects such as anxiety attacks, heart failure, constricted blood vessels, muscle pain etcsness and loneliness.

Heroin/Smack Addiction

Heroin, commonly referred by addicts as smack, black or H is commonly induced into the body through injections and sometimes taken orally or smoked. Due to its ability to build fast tolerance in the body, heroin creates high level of dependency making it difficult for the addicts to quit.

If someone has resorted to using illegal Class A drugs, either as the “next step” of their drug abuse or as a replacement for their prescription opioid painkiller dependence, you can guarantee they are not particularly concerned with what a drug like heroin/smack does to the body or does to the face. However, the physical effects that occur to their bodies, their faces, and (let’s not forget) their brains can be devastating and dramatic, as this article will describe and graphically show.

Hallucinogen

Hallucinogen drugs changes one’s perception of reality. They make a person hallucinate excessively and the person is transformed into an imaginary world that results in subjective change of one’s way of thinking, acting and reacting to various situations.

Cocaine Addiction

Cocaine is a white powder like substance induced out of the coca plant and is mostly inhaled from nose, taken orally or smoked. Cocaine users mostly abuse this drug with alcohol which severely damages the brain and liver alongside rapid changes in the respiratory and heart functions, which can lead to sudden death due to cardiac arrest, seizure or heart stroke.

Ecstasy, MDMA, and Molly

Ecstasy is the street name for a version of MDMA, or 3,4 methylenedioxy-methamphetamine. It is an illegal, synthetic drug classified as a stimulant with potentially hallucinogenic properties. Molly is another name for MDMA. Both ecstasy and molly are made from MDMA, but ecstasy is used to describe a designer version in pill or tablet form, while molly is used for the white powder or crystal-like substance.
